The Job

We are now holding interviews for qualified English teachers to teach at our bilingual kindergarten in the capital city of Beijing. Our students are aged from 2 to 6 years old and we warmly welcome teachers who thrive on inspiring young English learners to join us.

Located in Xicheng district, the central area of Beijing, as a high-end international kindergarten, we encourage children to explore and learn in a caring and supportive environment. We value the unique developmental process and inherent potential in each child.

You will be able to demonstrate excellence and expertise in your specialist area and should hold relevant experience teaching kids. Whilst your subject knowledge, curriculum awareness and pedagogical skills are vitally important to us, they are only part of what we are looking for in our teaching staff. We believe that successful teaching focuses on the building of relationships between our teachers and students.

We provide extensive training for all new teachers regardless of experience. Teachers help our children develop skills in reading, writing, listening, oral speaking and encourage a love and appreciation of both the English language and foreign cultures.

Beijing – The City 

Beijing, capital of the People’s Republic of China, is the nation’s political, economic, cultural, educational and international trade and communication center. Located in northern China, close to the port city of Tianjin and partially surrounded by Hebei province, Beijing continues to be an exciting place for all things music, fashion and art with plenty of events and shows to attend.

There is a thriving expat community in Beijing, with the Sanlitun area being a popular destination for both expats and trendy locals to mix and mingle over drinks. One of the most important landmarks in the city is Tiananmen Square. This is the world’s largest public square and a must see for all visitors from abroad and from other places in China.

Main Responsibilities

-Maximum of 20 teaching hours per week

-Maximum of 20 admin hours per week (mainly accompanying & participating in kids activities)

-Monday to Friday Schedule with evenings & weekends off

-Student ages: 2 to 6 years old

-Class size: average of 20 to 25 students per class

-Create and implement innovative and engaging lesson plans

-Classroom management and lead class activities with your co-workers throughout the day

-Play with kids and try to create engaging English speaking environments

-Attend English activities held by the school

Compensation

-Monthly salary: 15,000 to 18,000 RMB (depending on experience and qualifications)

-Monthly housing allowance: 6,000 RMB

-Arrival 3 days hotel allowance on provision of receipt

-Airfare allowance provided on contract completion: up to 8,000 RMB

-All public national holidays plus 10 days paid winter holidays

-Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided

-Health insurance provided

-On-going training and program support

Requirements

-Native English speaker from US, UK, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Ireland & South Africa

-Bachelor’s degree required

-TEFL certificate 120 hours plus required (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)

-Relevant teaching experience is required

-Clean criminal background

-Motivated, professional, creative, outgoing and culturally aware
