Summer Camp Teacher in Italy

Are you looking for a dynamic way to spend summer 2017? Look no further than Englishland Summer Camps! We are currently looking to hire mother-tongue English speakers who are enthusiastic about working with children and young people in a fast-paced and fun environment.

Based in Padova, near Venice in Italy, our camps allow children to learn essential communication skills through interaction with native speakers and by full immersion in the English language. As a result, we are looking for cheerful and outgoing candidates who have a passion for working with young people.

Our campers are between the ages of 4 and 16 and are, for the most part, native Italian speakers. However, it is not essential that prospective camp counsellors speak Italian. Although Italian is not a requirement, candidates must have experience of working with children and young people in different environments. Summer camp staff will be supported by the summer camp co-ordinator but must be able to take initiative when carrying out activities and have the knowledge and expertise of leading activities with children.

Camp will run from 12th June until 28th July 2017. It is required that candidates are able to attend the full dates of camp. There will be online training before arrival.

A typical camp day consists of 8 hours. You will have two days off per week. Throughout the camp day you will be served lunch and be given a break during the course of activities.

As a member of staff at Englishland Summer Camps you will be part of an international team and will be able to gain a large number of transferable skills that will benefit you in the future. Additionally, as our camp is situated in the Veneto region of Italy, you are within easy travel distance of many major cities. Venice, for example, is a 20 minute train journey away.

We are looking for staff with particular experience in the following areas:
- Movie Making (script writing and story boards, genre, characterization, acting, directing, editing)
- Theatre (acting, dancing, singing, prop and stage design, directing and prompting, script writing, character development)
- Journalism (writing, interviews, photography, digital journalism, editing)
- Dance/Cheerleading (stunts, formations and motions, chanting, choreographing)
- Sport (training, coaching, umpiring, refereeing, body knowledge, health and safety, experience of playing various sports)
- Music (singing, music reading, song writing, music composing, performing, beat, rhythm, pitch, ability to play musical instruments)
- Creative Design (painting, drawing, sketching, 3D design, advertisements, graphic design, fashion, marketing, artistic knowledge, experience with different materials such as paper, clay, paint, foil, tissue paper, craft supplies)
- Radio and Public Speaking (creative writing, speech writing, persuasive writing, creating TV and radio advertisements, debating, radio broadcasting, public speaking, presentations)
- Circus Skills (juggling, diabolo tricks, balloon making, magic tricks, face-painting, performing)
