Since I first began to tutor classmates in high school, teaching has been an
important part of my life. I would be delighted to have the opportunity to teach and
mentor students across the world. While completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, I had the pleasure of being a teaching assistant for an introductory chemistry class. During this time I worked closely with students across a wide range of cultural background and helped them build their chemistry skills. From that point on I realized the satisfaction of helping others gain knowledge, and the enjoyment of helping them overcome their personal challenges. My goal in teaching is to give students the tools necessary to succeed, and then give them the confidence necessary to utilize those tools. I accomplish this by working helping students ascertain their goals and use that as a foundation for the curriculum. To that end, I will try to emphasize critical thinking, creativity, collaboration
and communication skills, while also making the experience as enjoyable as possible.
