My name is Aileen
Grace C. Tapia, and I am from Laguna, Philippines.
Before I discovered
the world of teaching, I used to work at a call center company. An opportunity
presented itself, and since then, I have been enjoying teaching online English.
I have been working as an online tutor since 2007, and my former students are
from different countries like South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Poland.
I have a vast
experience in teaching students of different ages and levels, from primary
students to advanced business executives. Most of the Asian students that I
have encountered before are very much interested in learning, especially
because they know that learning English is a very important stepping stone in
order to be successful in the modern world.
I am very passionate
about teaching because I want to guide aspiring learners achieve their future
goals by sharing my knowledge in English, not only when it comes to vocabulary,
grammar, pronunciation, and accent, but also in training students to have
confidence in communicating with people from different countries and cultures,
using the English language. I believe that memorizing vocabulary words and
grammar rules are important, but not as important as actually having confidence
and being able to enjoy having a casual conversation in English.
When I'm not working, I enjoy listening to music, playing musical instruments such as piano and guitar, singing, watching movies and TV series, and reading English articles online. Once in a while, I also help my husband in managing our small business, a music rehearsal studio, which we have both established 3 years ago.
