Having
completed my honours degree in music and TEFL English course I am now ready to
take the next step into the teaching world. The
main attraction when it comes to teaching for me is the ability to inspire
students to learn and watch them develop. The ultimate goal is to provide
students with the skills and knowledge required for them to explore their true
potential. Teaching offers such a wide variety. I want to utilize my university
qualifications towards a teaching profession. This will allow me to use my
creative skills for a rewarding experience. I want to teach in a variety of
ways using visuals, videos, sounds, practical tasks and theory. I believe using
a wide variety of these resources will only interest and motivate students to
participate and enhance their learning opportunity. Creating a fun and
approachable classroom will make students relax and express their opinions while
gaining confidence in their own work.

My job involved supervising a factory of people working on machines. I loved this job and gained many transferable skills which i took with me for my next position.

I have spent
the last three years working as a raw chef. I began my training in Dublin in an
organic food factory. That factory was then relocated to Donegal. It was my job
to train and teach all the new factory staff in Donegal everything there was to
know about raw food. I broke down all
the information very simply to everyone showing them in depth demonstrations of
the processes and skills required when working with this type of food. I provided
a creative learning environment that encouraged people to grow and really grasp
the concept behind raw food. My goal was to create an atmosphere that
encouraged participation and direct involvement. I have gained many transferable skills from
my job which are organization, problem solving, creativity, communication, time
management, motivational skills and leadership. These skills can have a huge
impact in my role as a teacher. Knowing that I had the main role of educating
this whole factory of people was the ultimate job satisfaction. This experience
has pushed me and given me the confidence to apply for this course.
