My name is Blanca Doreste and I have been an Educator since 2006. I have a BA in English, a MA in English Education, and a MA in Early Childhood Education (still in progress). I speak, read, and write English fluently, even though Spanish is my native language. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and have lived in the United States since 2013, first in Brooklyn, New York and currently in San Jose, CA. I am passionate about education, helping others, and seeing the world!

I started as a Preschool Teacher within a team teaching system. Every classroom has from 3-5 teachers, all of which have Head Teacher responsibilities. In the preschool classroom, I was in charge of implementing lesson plans, monitoring learning, leading circle times and other meeting times, assessing and evaluating learning, and meeting with parents to discuss child's progress, among other things. I was then placed in the infant room in which I was responsible for meeting every child's needs, planning and implementing activities for the classroom, assessing children, and meeting with parents.
The school holds a Reggio Emilia inspired philosophy, which makes me very familiar with this progressive way of educating children.
