British School of Zanzibar (BSZ) is a private school that offers international

Nursery and Primary education that follows both British and Tanzanian

Curriculum. It is a social enterprise that is structured as a non-profit under

company decree.

BSZ is less than a 3 minutes drive from Zanzibar International Airport, and just 10 minutes from

Stonetown

BSZ was founded by three women aiming to provide an adequate educational

experience for the youth of Zanzibar in addition to the school’s integrative approach to education,

its demographic is multicultural; being made up of students from many

parts of the world. Not only is the student body representative of a micro international

society, but also BSZ accommodates and financially supports

orphans, less privileged children, and pupils with special needs. Currently,

20% of the pupils at BSZ receive a free education at the school’s expense.
