My name is Cristina Pintor and I joined the world of ESL
teaching in 2011 through the prompting of a friend who saw my gifts of
teaching. I responded to this calling and realized the tremendous fulfillment I
get in helping others achieve their goals through learning the English
language. My fifteen years of experience as a business professional has
given me related skills such as communication, customer service, administrative
and management skills that proved useful in dealing with my students. I earned
two Bachelor of Science degrees- one in Nursing and in Food Technology. Further,
I obtained a TESOL certificate where I have learned methodologies and
approaches that have changed my views in teaching. In my six years of
man-to-man and online teaching, I strike a balance between teacher-centered
instruction and student –centered instruction to help students achieve
communicative competence. I also appreciate cultural differences; therefore, as
a teacher, it is important to accommodate the needs of the students and be open
to new teaching methods. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, cooking, reading
books from various genres or just hanging out with my kids, Raffi and Cyril.
