My name is Elizabeth Stewart. I am currently completing my Bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in Professional Writing and a specialization for African-American studies. I am expected to graduate in May 2018. I always wanted to teach English overseas because I am a firm believer that English is essential for students, especially those that want to expand their networks outside of their country. I enjoy learning about other cultures and languages. I am the president of Chinese Culture Club at my college, and have studied a semester of intensive elementary Chinese. In the summer of 2017, I spent eight weeks in Beijing, China for a journalism internship. While in China, I continued my language courses. My job took place at a school, and there, I was able to interact with teachers and students, study different pedagogues, and even participate in the classroom experience. I loved my time in China, and the interactions I had with students. They were a fun and exciting group! I hope to go abroad again to pursue such a career.
