Bachelor of Arts, Communication Studies
December 2018
The University of Wollongong
February 2016 to May 2016
I studied abroad at The University of Wollongong, located in Australia. The cultural exchange inspired me to further my intercultural communication and allowed me to travel to surrounding countries, like Indonesia and Fiji, to practice teaching English as a second language.
Volunteer Eco Students Abroad
February 2018 to April 2018
As a contracted recruiter for Volunteer Eco Students Abroad, my primary roles were marketing and advertising VESA's volunteer/adventure programs. The position required extensive travel across Australia, promoting the programs within multiple universities. I gave speeches to audiences of 500+ students, held small presentations, and interpersonal meetings. Within each meeting, I conveyed precise knowledge of each VESA program, the application process, and fundraising methods.
Language Au Pair
July 2017 to November 2017
Au Pairing was a live-in position with a local Spanish family in Santander, Spain. My main duty was to teach English as a second language to three children, ages 7, 9, and 16. I had to use creative ways of teaching English to the two younger children in order to gain interest and inspire them to continue learning the English language. I was a Language Au Pair at the same time as I was finishing my last semester of university online at The University of North Carolina Wilmington.
