My name is Neels. I have been teaching English in several countries, and it has been great. First my coutry itself, then Oman 3years, then China 6 years, the Vietnam 4 years, and now I am working for an NGO in Cambodia.
I love Asia almost as mush as I love helping my students make progress. I believe it is important to adapt to different learner-types, but also to instill a love of the language, a great love that had me going to the library as a boy reading 10 books a week. I have all the experience, young, teen, adult, IELTS prep, business English, VIP... I have done it all. I can not imagine that I will ever stop teaching English, It is in the blood. No, really, my dad was also an English teacher :)
English teaching is too awesome!
Experience: 1 year in SA, 3 years in Oman, 6 years in China, 4 years in Vietnam, and currently almost a year with an NGO in Cambodia. I am considering my options looking at next year (maybe end January), but anything earlier than that is up for discussion for sure.

I know this is glib, but in 13 years I have learnt EVERYTHING about teaching English, even the fact that you NEVER stop learning as a teacher. The day you think you know it all and now you can relax... that day you are no longer a teacher. I BELIEVE IN FINDING RESOURCES ON THE NET, SHARING IDEAS WITH MY PEERS, TRYING NEW THINGS EVEN IF IT IS SCARY, cause that is how you maintain your ability to be the best teacher you can be....and if you are lucky, like me, comedy does not hurt. I just have a way with kids, always has, always will. So it is a balance between fun, work, and instilling a love of the subject in them.
