Introduction:

My name is Mpho Katjiuongua and I am a Namibian Born citizen with a South African heritage. From an early age, interpersonal engagement and social upliftment have been at core of my adventures. I have had the privilege of being a participant and subsequently leader of several youth leadership activities, most notably that of the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards programm identifying individual with altruistic leadership skills and becoming head boy of my school (St. Georges Diocesan College Windhoek).

I subsequently attended the University of Pretoria (UP) to pursue a BA General degree in Psychology, Philosophy and Spanish. In addition, I participated in several volounteer programms aimed at mutual and sustainable social empowerment. These included activities with Amnesty UP, Greenline which focuses on environmentally friendly initiatives; Enactus and The United Nations Association of South Africa (UNASA) student group.

Furthermore, after having participated in all the available programms I was elected as the Executive Committee member responsible for Outreach programms for UNASA UP. With the help of an inspiring team I guided several programms aimed at educating and empowering vulnerable groups as to how best to improve their situation. Most successfully was the My Rights and I Programme which focused on educating youth at Children's Homes in terms of their Human Rights, School work, School life and potential future career possibilities. We would visit a select number of homes several times a week and as EC member heading the project I would be responsible for approximately 20 volounteers and 15 children at a time. It was exceptionally challenging but it groomed me for leadership scenarios that involve imparting knowledge to young minds, communicationg with them in such a way as to respect their emotions and perspectives while also allowing them to explore their character in such an academic environment. Furthermore, I had the opportunity of tutoring first year university students on topics of justice from as part of the Philosophy department.

I work hard, efficiently and passionately to any commitment I make. I consider this a wonderful opportunity to provide my skills where they could be most beneficial. Teaching is the the core of all opportunities and language, verbal, written and behavioural, are the medium of this practice. It would be an opportunity to learn, to hone my skills and continue to position myself towards becoming a philosophy of Psychology professor.

Sincerely,
