Simile Bingo is a fun interesting way of developing vocabulary and learning some of the common clichéd similes. Being more aware of this method of enhancing descriptive writing encourages students to think in a more creative way and motivates students to make up their own similes when writing. As a result descriptive writing will contain more vivid phrases when expressing ideas.

For students who have English as an Additional Language, the game provides opportunities for extending English vocabulary in a relaxing way. Simile and picture matching cards are included and could be used prior to playing the Bingo game.
