Sunshine in your Suitcase - Narrated Travel Stories for Children

Hello to all English teachers, teaching abroad to young children aged approx 6-12.

I lived in Zurich from aged 6-8, in Istanbul from age 8-13 and have traveled many more miles since then.

I have drawn on these early childhood experiences when I started to write the Sunshine in your Suitcase stories for my daughter Eleanor which I have now narrated and are available on both CD and as a digital download album.

Baltimore starts his journey on the shores of the Bosphorous where he learns about Florence Nightingale and enjoys a freshly caught grilled fish sandwich, then an African safari - spotting different animals with cameras at the ready, ice-skating in Switzerland, a ride on iconic trams in Milan and discovers a wild boar statue and Galileo's telescopes in Florence and much more.

Listen in to a sample on the website www.sunshineinyoursuitcase.co.uk and for more background, you can read my blog on the Baltimore Travels digital download store: https://baltimore-travels.myshopify.com/blogs/writing-on-the-shores-of-the-bosphorous

The album contains 6 stories which if you purchase the digital download are individual .mp3 files.

For those of you in need of a resource for comprehension homework or simply just a bit of fun listening for your younger learners, I hope you find my stories interesting, informative and a great exercise to advance their English. Having the teddy Baltimore as the central character in the stories (who can be considered a mascot by older children!) also helps for engagement with the stories. My tone of voice is quite clear and enthusiastic as you can listen to in the sample on the website.

I welcome feedback, so please do ask any questions.

Many thanks for reading and I hope you and your students will enjoy the Baltimore Travels narrated stories.

Kind Regards,

Chris
