This resource engages students while developing the use of simple past tense, word order, reading, vocabulary and sentence construction including the use of capitals at the beginning of a sentence and full stops at the end. The task cards include the use of regular and irregular verbs. ESL / EAL / ELL / ELD / EFL students and native English speakers could all benefit from using this resource.
Sentences are of different lengths starting with one sentence containing 3 words and after that gradually progressing from 4, 5, 6, 7 to 8 words. This resource is not randomized so the task cards with shorter sentences will always be displayed first.
The resource uses the simple past tense of the following 64 verbs.

These digital task cards could be great on a laptop, desktop, Chromebook, tablet or any other mobile device that can access the internet. They can even be used on a Smart Board. There is no printing, laminating or storage. All you need is access to the internet.
This product includes
1. A LINK to 65 digital task cards on selecting and ordering words to make sentences using simple past tense to describe what is happening in different pictures (one card per slide) on the Boom Learning website.
2. Teacher notes on how to use these BOOM cards in your classroom.
Have a look at the thumbnail images and the preview to get a better idea of what the task cards look like. When you click on view preview, it will bring up a demo file at the bottom left hand side of the screen. Click on the demo. This will open up. Look for the blue rectangle which says ‘Click HERE to view preview.’ Click on this rectangle. Then click on slideshow and click on from current slide. Page 2 then fills the screen. Click again on the blue rectangle and this will take you to the preview in Boom Learning, where you can try out four of the task cards. When in the Boom Learning site, to try out the cards, you need to click on Full sized preview.
