I am Adrian, an English teacher from Liverpool in the UK and I have extensive experience of teaching English, TOEFL and advanced English. I have taught in Sri Lanka and in the UK as a volunteer and in Thailand as a paid full time English teacher. As you can see from my CV, I have extensive English skills and knowledge as well as experience of adapting to different cultures.
I came into teaching later in life, but I have a lot of life experiences and energy as well as a real passion for English teaching. I am a friendly, kind, patient teacher with a great sense of humour and a desire to improve my students' English levels through hard work, dedication and knowledge.
I devised exam papers and lesson plans whilst teaching in Thailand – especially detailed TOEFL test papers and took part in “Summer Camp” activities by making English quizzes and presentations to parents. I also took the lead in running English conversation classes for adults in the local community during the school holiday period -
I am a parent myself (my children are now grown up) so I know how to speak and interact with children and young adults and certainly how to educate them in a fun environment and with creativity. I strongly believe that if you make your lessons interesting and use stimulating materials and ideas then your student will be more relaxed and enjoy learning in a happy environment.
My teaching philosophy is to build a good rapport with the student whilst using my knowledge and ability to help them learn and build their English language confidence. A great teacher stimulates the students’ interest and gains their trust - allowing students to express themselves freely and openly and without fear of embarrassment.
Every student has the ability to learn another language - they just need support, patience and trust - a good teacher has the right qualities – I have these qualities and I believe that I can offer a lot to my prospective students.
I hope that you allow me the opportunity to work for you and give me the opportunity to bring my experience and teaching methodology to prospective students – I am fully committed and highly motivated and always endeavour to do my best.
