To whom this may concern,
My name is Andrew Durand. A
Canadian citizen and highly skilled English and Environmental Science Instructor.
I am a bilingual
professional,
fluent in both English and French with an introductory level of Russian
comprehension, with a passion for languages, culture, history, and the
environment. I have travelled extensively over the past six years and
acquired a wealth of experiences that make me an excellent addition to
any multi-cultured and dynamic educational team.
I am currently enrolled in a Master’s degree in Coastal and Marine Management at the University of Akureyri in Iceland, but have deferred my research to further explore work opportunities in the fields of education and environmental preservation/ethics. I am a highly motivated and hardworking individual with a genuine passion for a career in education. As my resume will highlight, over the course of my career and academic life I have worked independently and with teams as both a member and supervisor amounting to over 13 years of customer servicing and 3 years of teaching English as a second language in various locations around the world.
I am currently in the process of upgrading my TEFL certificate to a TEFL Masters certificate in order to increase my own knowledge and expertise. In addition to my experiences and personal qualities I have a solid educational foundation and a passion for teaching. I am extremely enthusiastic about diversifying students’ experiences, as well as my own, and would welcome the opportunity to contribute to your ongoing success in this area. As an instructor increasing student engagement in the classroom, improving test scores for all students, maximising student participation with diverse activities, and cultivating a positive student parent and teacher relationship are interpersonal and organisational skills I excel at and which I hope to continue expanding upon. Please review my attached resume for additional details regarding my expertise and career achievements.
I would like to thank you in advance for your time and potential consideration.
Sincerely,
Andrew Durand
