My name is Anna Westby and I am a 140-hour TEFL certified tutor with a background corporate management for the localization/translation industry.
As an ESL tutor, I provide one-on-one lessons to elementary and middle school students to improve their academic performance in English as a Second Language. This instruction includes tutoring students in grammar, spelling, punctuation, paragraph writing, and essay writing skills.
I also utilize instructional strategies such as interactive games, cultural implementation, and visual adaptations. When work with school-age students, my main directives have been to prepare them for school exams and assist with homework assignments.
I regularly deliver feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, and build confidence. In addition to this, I also hold conferences with clients and their parents to determine success of instruction and provide guidance.
