Hi there!

    My name is Cat Petrini and I am a recent college graduate seeking a new opportunity abroad that will utilize my passion for education, my kind and patient attitude, and my enthusiasm for personal and professional community building and growth. 

    I am a San Francisco / Bay Area native with a curiosity for many subjects, in particular, the arts, music, cooking and nutrition, wellness, holistic education, psychology, nature and spirituality. I am excited to get to know each of the students and to create a warm and friendly environment for them to feel comfortable learning and practicing their English!

    I feel I would make a great fit for the ESL classroom! I have a Bachelor's degree in Integral Studies with a minor in critical psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. I am TESOL certified and have consistently worked in education and social services as a volunteer and professional over the past decade. I have assisted in elementary after school art programs and have been a tutor for a high school AVID program, which aims to close the achievement gap in public education. I have also been involved in many peer counseling programs focusing on the mental health and well being of students. I have volunteered in an outdoor education program where I assisted in teaching elementary earth science to children. I have facilitated LGBTQ alliance meetings on campus at San Francisco State University with groups of young adults. I will be taking a 200 hour yoga instructor certification just outside of Barcelona, Spain in July and I am interested in continuing my professional path assisting in an ESL classroom. I look forward to growing my resume and skill set to carry with me into similar opportunities in the future.
