Introduction:

Teaching philosophy

In picturing my life, I find myself always to behave like a teacher. I have been the first child of my family; my parents care much about our education. Since I remember, I used to feel responsible for my sister’s school’s assignments and challenges and since I had encountered the same, I used to teach her eagerly whatever I had learned before. It was just the beginning. My favorite hobby during break times at school was when I was explaining part of the lesson I had got; the rest of the times I was silent wholehearted listening to my friend’s stories. When I entered university during my education I had lots of performance tasks (presentations). Although they were for many the source of anxiety, for me they were a chance to talk about things that I have prepared for my friends with the purpose of adding some more student-favored information to the course content. Finally, after ten years of education, I became qualified to be an instructor; the sweetest output of that period for me was that I realized after all, that I really enjoy being a Teacher.

As an English teacher, I can put all the experiences I've had - both as a student and as a teacher - into use. I have taken part in English courses in institutions since I was eleven years old. I have undergone various kinds of methods, systems, and books such as Headway, Passage etc. I’ve passed PETs such as TOEFL, IELTS, and GRE with high scores. Furthermore, I have shown my knowledge and ability as much as my eager in education with my successful education at the best and highest ranked universities in my country. Being a teacher at university was such a challenging but pleasurable experience that left a huge desire for teaching inside my heart.

I believe my patience and calm personality can help me create peaceful and objective classroom environment. I love people and enjoy giving hand to them, no matter how different they are to me. That ardor inside me to get to know people and hear their stories makes teaching a delightful experience for me. By helping students achieve their goals and watching them progressing I gift myself inner happiness.

What kind of a teacher am I? Do I have specifically an adored hero whom I’m going to follow? Will I put the methods, advice, prescriptions and the knowledge I’ve acquired into practice? Have I learned from my previous teaching experience at university? Am I happy that this time I am going to teach “English” and “in English”? My answer to all questions above is “absolutely yes!”. But what makes me differently exclusive? My life experiences got me to the point to know the value of this job: teaching! And as the result of self-awareness I have undergone, I can clearly see in myself the qualifications, actually and potentially, for being a good English teacher.

English for me has ever been more than a second language to learn. I have seen it as the human language. Apart from academic education, since I remember I have been attracted to English products, rather it is books, journals, websites content or films, series, music and TV shows. English In my viewpoint can bring people together and make it possible for them to communicate. Teaching English to people in different parts of the world is like a breath of unity moving through their hearts and minds.
