About myself:
Hallo!
My name is Hannah.
I have a degree in finance, and I have been teaching English privately for just over seven years to Children, Teens and Adults. I have also taught English Second Language from kindergarten to grade 12 for the past two years.
My hobbies are metal detecting and creative arts, but my greatest passion is English!
I am an energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and spontaneous person, but most importantly patient.
I believe the most effective way to feel comfortable and confident with English is to enjoy great conversations and corrections where necessary!
How I learnt English?:
I am a native English speaker, and my days were filled with English at school, at home and at work.
In my early 20’s my English skills were refined through private lessons with an International British English teacher.
I sharpen my English daily through reading everything I can lay my hands on.
The TEFL/TESOL certificate I completed further enriched my English.
My teaching experience:
From March 2014 I taught English to native isiNyanja speaking Zambians – children, adults, and professional accountants. I used the Zambian school curriculum as a basis, which incorporated grammar, reading, and writing.
From April 2018, when I returned to South Africa, I taught English first and second language to children. I used the South African curriculum as basis which I supplemented with the Cambridge curriculum.
Since May 2020 I taught English Second Language from kindergarten to grade 12 to Chinese students at Acadsoc.
In my experience a great teacher loves to teach and learn.
Learning English is a journey from the unknown to the best destination ever!
