Introduction:

Is a lack of English causing you to miss out on opportunities in life? If so, whether it be for Education, Culture, Business or Social motives, there is nothing excites me more than the opportunity to help you realise your potential and become a proud and confident member of the Global English speaking community. I'm an Australian English as a Second Language Teacher (ESL) with a Cambridge Certificate and many years experience both at home in Melbourne and in many years travelling abroad. From living on and off in Spain over a six year period, I'm particularly experienced in teaching English to Spanish speakers and time permitting, I'm proficient enough in Spanish to offer beginner Spanish classes to anyone interested. My experience with the Spanish language includes a recent two month trip to South America that included a month of voluntary English teaching in a Secondary College in Cusco, Peru and later extended visits to Puerto Rico and Cuba. From working with the Hispanic Community in Melbourne for many years, it's obvious to me that most English Students are having or have had many hours of English theory and their books are full of grammar and vocabulary. This is very useful, especially when beginning an English learning journey, however, what they lack and what really interests me, is developing conversation more than anything else. If it's practical conversation you need, it's my passion and is at the core of my tutoring philosophy! For International visitors to Melbourne who are interested, I can focus my classes around aspects of life in Melbourne or more generally on Indigenous, Colonial and Multi-Cultural Australia. Ours is a very unique place in the World! Furthermore, for anyone with enough time, I am very happy to combine my classes with visits to places of interest in Melbourne such as Rock Music or sports events, Koorie (Aboriginal) heritage sites, galleries, museums, gardens, historical landmarks, beaches, cultural events or my hometown of Williamstown to name a few. In fact, I'm up for anything you want to do! As a Native English speaker with excellent qualifications and many years of experience teaching and tutoring English as a second language I speak slowly, clearly and methodically! My lessons are structured according to the level and needs of my students, be they business, academic, travel or simply communication. It's my aim to make your English language learning fun and as interesting as it can possibly be! As a bonus to all my students, I offer daily assistance with any issues they may have via WhatsApp. I use it to stimulate discussion and to regularly challenge students with exercises and quizzes designed to improve their English. For truly motivated students this is a highly valued inspirational resource! Following the Global pandemic I have developed conversation sessions and tutoring opportunities on Zoom. This has enabled me to reach out to learners anywhere in the World. If this is something that interests you, please feel free to message me. Technology and the internet are amazing resources when combined with my passionate guidance and your effort!
