Introduction:
My name is James Daniel Whitford. I am a native English speaker from the UK.
In 2019 I received a 140-hour TEFL certification and in 2020 I received a bachelor's degree.
I have over 2 years of ESL teaching experience. I have worked as a freelance ESL teacher as well as for large ESL teaching companies. I have taught children and adults of all English proficiencies, both online and face-to-face. My work has allowed me to teach students from all over the world, from China to South Africa.
About me:
I live by the sea on a beautiful farm where I enjoy gardening and growing fruits and vegetables. I share my home with four friendly dogs, two lazy cats and my family. I love being in nature and going on hikes with friends.
When I am not outside in the garden, you will find me inside cooking or reading. I love learning how to cook delicious meals and sweet treats. If you want to get to know me better, just have a look at my bookshelf! I am an avid reader. My university studies introduced me to ideas on world history, art and philosophy which interest me greatly. One of my favourite subjects is Eastern philosophy.
When I was in school, I was a very shy student. Music was my worst subject because I never wanted to perform in front of others. My teacher taught me that the only way to learn something is by having the confidence to try. Teachers like her have had a great impact on my life, and so I strive to be a positive influence on the lives of all my students in the same way.
