My Profile

I am a TESOL certified education practitioner who has been involved in teaching for the past twenty years. I have also been involved in middle and top-level management positions in various schools both internationally and locally. I hold a Diploma in Education, BA and an MA Degree in English.

I possess vast experience in the teaching of English. For the past five years I have been employed by the University of South Africa in the College of Human Sciences; English Studies as a marker and tutor. I have marked for over five different modules including ENG 1501, ENG 1504 as well as ENG2601. Presently, I mark assignments, exams and portfolios as well as provide tutoring for the following modules; Introduction to Applied Linguistics (ENG 1502), Post- Colonial Literature (ENG2603) and Subject Didactics in English (SDENG 3J).

The highlight of my career was when I was appointed by the English Department at UNISA to participate in material development for a new module; ENG 1517 for the BEd Foundation phase students which started in January 2019.

I was the founding Principal of Witbank Christian School, a private Christian educational institution in Witbank, Mpumalanga in 2017. I organized the recruitment of teachers and support staff, as well as organized the school curriculum amongst other duties. Further to that, I have worked as a teacher of English as both Home Language and as an additional language for more than ten years. My experience in the teaching of English is extensive.

I have also worked on various online platforms used by UNISA for tutoring and marking assignments namely; myunisa and JRouter respectively. I am also competent in the use of the efundi online platform that is used at North West University. I am also able to work with students via other online platforms like efundi which is used via a unitary system across the three campuses.
