Having a passion is not enough. To live, you must breath your passion, become your passion. Teaching and learning is a priority that started when I was very young. I have had the unique experience of going through four education systems: public school, homeschool, charter school, and private school. The experienced I gained as a student in all of these systems has heavily influenced the way I teach and interact with the education system now as an teacher.
As an educated Black woman who grew up in multicultural contexts, it has become a pleasure to travel, experience, and fall in love with different cultures and languages as I teach. Moreover, because of my background and identities I bring a unique perspective to the classroom, I see the world differently and I share that with my students. It is important to me that I love what I do and where I work, therefore employers can be confident that I will enjoy what I do and continually give my best effort. As an academic researcher and adult learner, it is important that I keep learning about the newest approaches and methods and that I continually develop my own. Finally, as a continuous student of language, I can guarantee that I will always be patient and encouraging because learning another language and culture comes with many trials and tribulations but ultimately becomes very rewarding.
