July 2013 to December 2013
I was invited to come fill in as an assistant language teacher in elementary and middle schools in Minato Ward of Tokyo. I had to create my own curriculum to teach 100% in English without any assistance from Japanese staff or teachers. Unfortunately, I had to leave the position due to an unexpected death in my family. My father passed away and thus, I had to leave Tokyo for a few months.
I learned a lot in my experience and really enjoy teaching both younger and older children. Overall, I prefer elementary and highschool aged children.
CAC Corporation
January 2014 to September 2015
I worked for WONDS Corporation that dispatched me to CAC Corporation, an IT software and service provider in Tokyo.
My main role was to translate and interpret Japanese. While there, my team leader and I started an afterwork corporate English conversational & reading program. I became a lecturer for the program as well as helped sell the program.
We later integrated TOEIC (a common standardized English test in Japan) and helped our students prep for the test. We then sold these courses to other companies in Tokyo such as Sanofi and Astellas.
