Worldwide Heart to Heart
Ministries is a non-profit group of Christian
believers, with headquarters
in Portland, Oregon USA. We are incorporated
in Washington State, with the Federal Government, and
in Honduras as ASOCORA. Our vision is to bring
the love of Jesus Christ to hurting people
in this world. Our emphasis is caring for
orphans, providing medical/ dental care to the needy,
educating our children and others, and facilitating volunteer medical,
dental, Vacation Bible School, Construction, Crusade and Youth Ministry teams to Honduras.
WWH2H was birthed in
response to the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Mitch that hit
Honduras in the late fall of 1998. A
small group of concerned friends gathered to pray about what God wanted us to
do. We sent a team to see if we could help the children. While there, we met a man who told us that
the night before, he had dreamed we were coming and God told him to help us
when he met us. He gave us 8 acres of
land in the countryside near Tegucigalpita to build a Children’s Village for
abused and abandoned children. This has now become home to over 100 children,
our beautiful Gifts from God.
WWH2H is supported by
donors from all over the world who have heard what God is doing for His Kids in
Honduras, and want to help. Currently, we have a Children’s Village, two teen
houses, a medical dental clinic, a church and two schools, one that is English
Immersion, and one that is Spanish. We have between 15-20 mission teams that
come to help us each year, as well as several long-term volunteers who work at
our school.
We received our papers to have a private school in 2011. By August of 2012, we had built Phase I of our school plan. In 2015 we were able to purchase a larger plot of land for a new school and by early 2016 had received donations to begin construction. We moved into the new school in August of 2016 and this year’s graduating class is the first from this new school. We have grades K- high school. We need English speaking teachers in all grades. We provide room and board and $200 per month. Each volunteer will need to have some sponsorship funds from church and/or family to live the year.
