I have heard great things about Teaching English abroad and have always enjoyed experiencing new cultures. I am a native-English speaker with a South African/ American accent. I believe that I would be a great asset to students and make a meaningful impact; helping them grow to have a brighter future with the English language.
I hold a Bachelor of Sciences (BSc) degree in Genetics with an additional major in Microbiology, from the University of Pretoria. I have substantial mastery of the English language, and have completed the 150-hour Master Teaching of English as a Foreign language (TELF) course with Global Language Training, London. Additionally, as a former tutor at Master Maths & Science, and having been an academic advisor, I am familiar with several curricula; assisting children with English as well as understanding important concepts in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
I am an out of the box thinker with local and global knowledge, experience and education. Having had the privilege of visiting and traveling to 7 countries on 5 continents, I boast an array of international experience, exposure and networks. In 2017, I lived in Vilanculos, Mozambique for 12 months where I immersed myself in the culture and lifestyle; familiarizing myself with the language and its people. After reviewing the requirements, I have no issues with committing to a 4 to 12 month contract.
Finally, I am a quick learner when trained or instructed and can follow instructions in a timely and accurate fashion. I have always been passionate about education and am always looking for an opportunity to pass on knowledge. I also enjoy traveling so what better way to marry the two than to teach in English abroad.
