Introduction:

  • My name is Moni, I am 47 years old and have grown up in Johannesburg South Africa
  • I graduated from the University of South Africa with a Higher Diploma in Adult Basic Education and Training
  • I completed my Teach English as a Foreign Language (120hrs TEFL ) certificate
  • I am passionate about the world, so far have travelled Africa, Lesotho ,Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe
  • I love the outdoors so Hiking is my favourite outdoor activity and listening to music
  • I have a  South African accent my voice is clear and warm, very easy to understand
  • I have over 13 years of African language teaching ( Isizulu, Sesotho, Setswana, Sepedi, Isixhosa) my experience in conversational  classes will make my students life easy.
  • I love to teach  and meet people from all over the world and to also learn about their different cultures

Having had the role of a Setswana language and culture helper/teacher in both individual and group courses. Following the Talk method of language learning, I have worked one on one with people wanting to learn Setswana in the phase one TALK course; this has also involved • Teaching basic language texts that people can use in their everyday lives •Teaching them to develop simple sentences in the target language, and understand basic grammar structures In the phase 2 TALK course, I have acted as a language teacher assisting learners: Focus on a more in-depth level on grammar structures of the language Helped them develop sentences and new grammar Made them aware of the differences in tone, rhythm and stress between their mother tongue and African Languages • Practiced the language with them • Taught them songs and rhymes in the target language • Assessed their level of fluency at various levels throughout the course, explained various aspects of African culture to them •Taught them structures in the language they are learning
