Introduction:

Dear Sir / Madam,

I would firstly like to thank you for taking the time to consider my application for the position as an English Second Language (“ESL”) Teacher.

Why the sudden change in career paths? I have heard many fantastic things from colleagues and friends working abroad as ESL teachers and I am confident that I will be a great asset to the ESL community and to your network of students. I am a Native-English speaker with a South African accent.

I have Baccalaureus Commercii Law (B. Com Law) and Baccalaureus Legum (LLB) degree from The University of the Free State. I am willing to further establish myself in the ESL community by obtaining the relevant TEFL certification that will be required by your establishment as I wish to be exactly what you require from an ESL Teacher. I believe that with the right attitude and willingness to grow, I will become an experienced ESL teacher that will go hand-in-hand with what you are looking for in an ESL Teacher.

I have no problem to relocate for a fixed period and committing to a fixed-term contract with your establishment. I really see a future for myself teaching English as a second language.

I am extremely passionate about sharing my knowledge with young learners to help them grow up to have a bright future.

I am patient, courteous, caring and engaging.

I am very adaptable to new circumstances. I am excited to learn and to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds.

I would very much like to discuss these opportunities with you and to schedule an interview. Enclosed herewith my resume. I look forward to speaking with you soon

Yours sincerely,

MONIQUE VAN STRAATEN
