I have completed my Degree of Bachelor of Technology, in Architectural Technology, at the Durban University of Technology. I am qualified as a Senior Architectural Technologist.
I have been chosen to work with international students from the University of California on developing the underprivileged township of Kwadabeka. I have also been chosen to work with students and lecturers from China, India and Rome in the UNESCO project which consisted of redesigning a precinct within Durban. I was a student representative for the third year students. In my fourth year, I was a panel member of the academic review panel.
In year 2015 I have been awarded Cum Laude in receiving my National Diploma. In year 2016 I have been awarded Cum laude and the Dean's Merit award in receiving my Degree of Bachelor of Technology.
I have completed my TESOL course (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at the University of Witwatersrand. The TESOL course included a 12-week online component and a week-long onsite component. The course consisted of 190 notional hours, including assignments, 40 hours of face-to-face training, a practical teaching component of a minimum of 4 hours (observed teaching practice), and a further 15 hours of peer observations.
My
previous teaching experience includes marking English examination papers at
George Campbell School of Technology, teaching Yoga at many venues which
included working with large groups of people, being a counsellor and legal
officer at the Durban University of Technology, being a kindergarten coach, and
being a Scout Patrol Leader which consisted of teaching camp health and
preparation, botany, navigation, survival, first aid, pioneering etc.
I believe that self reliance and effective communication results in a successful organisation.
