My Profile

I believe that my experience on both sides of the classroom has given me a unique perspective on what works for today's students. I have taught in both the traditional public school setting and private setting.

While teaching, I developed a curriculum that focuses on inquiry-based learning, which allowed students more control over their learning and gave them ownership of their education. I stand firm that a student-based approach is the best way to allow my students to thrive. My philosophy of education is that every person has a right to knowledge. My classroom is a space for exploration and discovery where individuals are prized for their individuality and excellence is achieved via competence.

In addition to teaching, I have also worked as a tutor for several ill or struggling students in a traditional classroom setting. One example of this is when I worked with a student who was falling behind in class. After working with him one-on-one, modifying the curriculum by substituting alternative materials where necessary to meet his academic needs, he was able to catch up and then proceed at an accelerated rate.
