Panda English Education and the SiHui Education Group

Panda is has been in business and been supplying schools with teachers since August 2008. Chinese and Foreign owned and managed, Panda has been hiring, training and monitoring teachers for multiple schools in the Shanghai area, mostly kindergarten and Primary schools however, have been supplying higher levels as well. Together with SiHui, all of our teachers are legally licensed with federal level, category B permit as an English teacher with all the legal documentation and visas to legally work in China (including Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, according to the Chinese government).

Panda presently employs approximate 45-50 foreign teachers which are approximately 90% native English speakers and 10% qualified non-native speakers, who are managed and trained by a native English speaking foreign director. Panda, at the moment, are continually hiring more foreign teachers to supply the present demand in China.

Panda also has its support staff, made up of English speaking Chinese Education Administrators and Teacher Assistants. In Panda, these employees handle all level of services to the schools and teachers, to bridge the language and cultural gap between these two societies. Our Chinese staff helps foreigners in and out of the classrooms to make their experience in China a good one. They assist the foreigners to find apartments, show them shopping areas around Shanghai, help them to get bank accounts, open mobile phone accounts, get internet installed in their apartments, help them with medical and dental issues and so much more (a happy teacher is a reliable teacher). In the schools, the staff monitors the teachers and builds the relationship between the teacher, the school and Panda head office and reports issues back to the foreign director, so that he can make the process run smoothly (solving small problems quickly is better than solving big problems too late).

Panda finds, interviews and hires the teachers, taking care of their visas and category B permit, payroll, taxation, training, monitoring and teaching materials (if required). When the schools or teachers experience disagreements, Panda also coming in and handles these problems as well, so that there aren’t any misunderstandings between the school and the teachers. Teachers and Schools are both under a very detailed contract to insure that both parties are following the same regulations, including labour and immigration laws.

To Panda, reputation for the business is extremely important, especially in the foreign teacher market. Panda is on a number of “white” lists in China for being a fair and honest company, which gives Panda a huge advantage over most school, education centres, education related businesses and foreigners. Panda also cooperates with multiple universities in native English speaking countries around the world, trying to recruit teachers and to assist foreign teachers financially to make the move to China.
