Pinata Education is an online English teaching company aimed towards 5 – 12 year old Chinese children, learning beginner level English.  Our founding team has over 8 years’ experience in online language teaching service, so we understand what it takes to have productive educational approaches,. We have a passion connecting talented teachers and eager students from around the world! 

At Pinata, we trust our teachers to do what they do best and teach in a way that’s personalized – based on a students’ learning goals, age, background and personality. Our teachers are energetic, fun, engaging and imaginative in their delivery of English lessons. We believe our teachers are not only teachers, but also friends to our students. Whatever course the student chooses to learn from, we know our teachers can deliver the best quality English classes, bring the lesson alive, and leave students excited for their next class. 

We pride ourselves on being able to help students expand in their English understanding, by challenging them to think outside of the box and share their opinion, thoughts and interests as much as possible to really learn how to express themselves in English about topics in the real world, and help prepare them for a bright future ahead!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Classes are conducted on a web meeting platform. One to one or one to multiple Audio or Video chat, screen sharing are the functions used by teachers. 

CLASS LENGTH & SIZE?

30 minutes or 60 minutes per lesson, One to One or Small group class, for group class, 4 students max. 

WHAT WILL I TEACH WITH?

We provide our teachers with all teaching materials. We use a six-level ESL/EFL course with full lesson plans as textbooks as well as Phonics course and some picture books for reading courses. 

WHAT WILL MY STUDENTS BE LIKE?

Students are aged from 6-12, beginner - intermediate level depending on their background and learning experience. Our students aim to improve on vocabulary, language structures, basic grammar, reading and English fluency. 

HOW WILL I BE PAID?

We pay £14- £19 an hour for teachers who have previous online teaching experience. If the teacher requires a lot of training then we start on £10 an hour until the teachers are good to go (1-2 months). Pay increases depending on the Teacher and feedback from students and their parents. Monthly payment is made through direct bank transfer, TransferWise, or PayPal. 

WHAT ARE WORKING HOURS?

CURRENTLY (updated January 2021)

Weekdays: 5pm - 9pm Beijing time (UK: 9am - 1pm) / Weekends: 8am - 9pm Beijing time 

By the summer of 2021, we will have NEW working hours available, which will be: Every day of the week:  8am - 9pm Brasilia UTC-3 (UK time: 11am - midnight). However, we must let teachers know: These new classes are directed to both younger learners AND adults (general conversation and professional English). For more information please mention teaching South American students in your interview.
