Introduction and background
My name is Rochelle Meyer and I’m from a small but vibrant coastal town called Mossel Bay, situated in beautiful and culturally diverse South Africa. I’m fluent in 2 of South Africa’s 11 official languages, English and Afrikaans and currently
learning Spanish as a 3rd language.
I am a certified level 5 - ESL teacher/tutor with an added qualifications in teaching one-on-one online and teaching Business English. Furthermore, I’m in the process of completing my IELTS coaching certification. I currently teach English online to private adult students (+18yrs) and young children (+5yrs)
My preferred teaching method for young learners is TPR (Total Physical Response) I believe it provides an enjoyable and motivating environment for my students. For adults an instructional-design-model teaching approach, accompanied with a PPP (Present, Practice and Produce) lesson plan structure ensure that my student’s
aspired level of productive and receptive English can be accomplished.
In short, my student’s goals are my goals. Material is effectively delivered and most importantly, my students build new English skills with confidence.
My interests range from wildlife/ecotourism attractions, riding motorcycles, and adventure water-activities like kayaking and snorkelling. When I have time on my hands, I enjoy a wide variety of hobbies, like reading fiction novels, completing word-games such as crossword-puzzles, experimenting with new cuisines and
baking for my family and friends.
My background in South African hospitality, tour guiding, nature guiding, and adventure guiding has inspired my passion for meeting people from different countries, cultures, and all walks of life. I have experience in the corporate aviation sector, which has provided me with proficient execution and implementation of Formal and Business English Communication.
I pride myself on being advantageous and energetic in my professional life (and personal life), combined with an enthusiasm for teaching. I’d like to thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself and look forward to hopefully speaking with you soon.

I'm a full-time Online ESL Teacher with over 1 year experience as a private ESL tutor/teacher and recently obtained certification in teaching English as a second language, teaching online 1-ON-1 and teaching business English. Furthermore, I am in the process of obtaining a IETLS Coaching Certification.
Specifically, my skills lie in teaching young children (pre-primary and 5yrs – 10yrs) and beginner adults (A1 to B2) and serving as an advisor of the English language to non-native business professionals with my focus on vocabulary building and conversational fluency. Maintaining current lesson plans and/or planning, preparing, and teaching well-developed English lessons that enthuse and inspire students is my forte.
I am also competent in selecting appropriate materials and approaches according to the course area and the individual requirements of students.
Basically, I am poised to teach and enhance student’s English language skills in areas such as listening, reading, speaking, and writing.
My passion for client (or in this case student) satisfaction, cultural understanding and leadership skills can further be determined from my former employment experience in hospitality, tourism, and aviation management industries.
