My Profile

My experience as an ESL instructor, a student of Foreign language and a traveler, has increased

my passion and appreciation for languages and how one language can turn the world into a

global village. I strongly believe with this solid background coupled with my passion I am an

ideal candidate for the Teaching position in your company. Therefore, as a successful TESOL

certified candidate, I will bring a reflective 5 years’ experience of learning a foreign language

and 11 years volunteering in different countries with communities who speak English as a second

language. These are my strengths and skills that I will utilize in my Teaching position to produce

excellence in our students.

I have experience teaching elementary-level students and adults in a variety of settings. I am

currently teaching English to children with an online company and enjoy working with children

of all ages. I have been able to implement various teaching methods while taking into

consideration the student’s cultural background and communicational interpretation. For

Instance, I have been able to incorporate teaching tools such as the “Massive Muscle Memory,”

the use of descriptive gestures to enhance student’s memory retention, and the “Jazz Chant,” the

turning of sentences into Jazz rhythms and clapping along. Both improve the student’s speaking

ability and helps with accent reduction. These techniques have proven to be effective methods

for ESL students from High-Context Cultures. I have learned that my energetic personality and

passion for children have been some of my strengths in keeping my students interested, awake

and able to excel at their language learning skills. As a foreign language speaker (French)

myself, I can relate to students’ feelings, concerns and challenges about learning another

language. Being able to understand a student’s perspective gives me an advantage that will help

me to easily connect with them on a different level and provide them with practical and effective

ways to excel in language speaking. Your company’s objective is to effectively teach children

English in a non-strict easygoing setting and I am confident that I have the character, practical

knowledge and experience needed to produce excellence in our students to become fluent

English speakers.

I can relate to our students because I too am learning a foreign language. Therefore, given an

opportunity to serve in this role, I will be sure to unleash my experience along with my

enthusiasm to be a caring teacher to our students and an effective team member of your
