was a part of a proofreading organisation at The University of Cape Town that
would proofread postgraduate students’ thesis work. I would review copy to
detect errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, syntax and facts.

I was a part of the SHAWCO (Students' Health and Welfare Centres
Organisation) Saturday School programme team. I worked with over two hundred
Grade 12 learners from a number of disadvantaged communities in the western
cape to provide extra lessons in English and Maths.
