The Shanghai EC Company was founded by British-born entrepreneur Nigel Royle in 2017. While studying for his second bachelor degree in English Literature and Creative Writing (First Class Hons), he had the wonderful opportunity to study Chinese Mandarin. After grauduation he became an ESL English teacher in Shanghai. Two years later, with help and advice form local Chinese individuals and businesses, he created the Shanghai EC Company to help other new teachers to have a more safe and stress-free experience of relocation to China

In 2018, the Shanghai EC Company developed its recruitment to assit international schools in Shanghai and other key important cities. With its links to the U.K and new resourceses in North America, The Shanghai EC Company discovers experienced and passionate teachers who want a career in education beyound the boundaries of their home nation.
