Introduction:

I am writing you to express my interest in teaching english abroad in Korea. Ever since I studied abroad in the fall of 2018 I’ve wanted to return to Korea to teach English. I love the country and want to contribute to it in a meaningful way. I also find a lot of joy in teaching and speaking in front of groups. I have experience with teaching and presenting online and in person, and would like to use that experience to be a great teacher.

During my time in high school I was heavily involved with my school’s debate and forensics teams. In these clubs I honed my public speaking and presentation skills. I even gained teaching specific experience in one of my events in forensics. I was tasked with creating an educational speech and presenting it in front of judges. This speech won m multiple awards at tournaments and showed me how to create an effective educational speech.

During college I started an educational League of Legends youtube channel that acquired over 7,000 subscribers and 700,000 views. I was good at league of legends, and so I decided to give back to the community that taught me how to play by teaching new players. I prepared scripts, almost like lesson plans, and even had recurring series that built off each other. I created two videos per week and my advice and teachings helped many players improve at the game.

I believe that teaching English abroad in South Korea is the next step in my life. I would love the chance to discuss this with you further during an interview. If you have any questions about anything I didn’t cover here or would like me to expand, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
